Therapy Rates

Rates

The fee for a standard 45-50 minute therapy session is $250. In certain circumstances, you may qualify for a lower fee.

Accepted Payments

I accept payment through credit card, cash, zelle, check, HSA, or FSA card. Most clients elect to put a card on file that I ran after each session.

Out of Network Insurance

You may be able to use your out-of-network insurance benefits for therapy services.

I am an out of network provider for most insurance plans. However, depending on your specific plan, you may still be able to access out of network therapy using your insurance. I use a service called Thrizer for processing OON sessions.

Here's how it works:

  • Start by gettting an instant breakdown of your benefits (at this link or at the widget below): https://eligibility.thrizer.com/julie-whipple-psychology

  • The next step is to to choose between the traditional superbill route or Thrizer Pay.

    • You can choose to submit superbills either directly to your insurance (or I can through Thrizer). If you choose this option, than you will pay for therapy directly at the time of the session and then wait for your insurance to reimburse you.

    • Thrizer Pay allows you to just pay your copay for sessions. With this option, I would process just your co-pay at the time of session and your insurance company pays me the remainder of the session fee.

  • If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask me!

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
